In Loving Memory of Mike Robinson

Mike Robinson, a proud native of Stouffville, Ontario, was the kind of person who made life feel lighter just by being in the room. His laughter, loyalty, and boundless love left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him. Mike had a rare ability to make people feel truly seen and valued — whether through a shared joke, a quiet word of encouragement, or simply showing up when it mattered most.

Mike carried himself with a unique blend of calm steadiness, playful competitiveness, and deep respect for others. He put others first, always thinking about the people around him, and he had a gift for mentoring younger players, both in hockey and golf, teaching them not just skills but also values and confidence.

To know Mike was to love him. He was the person you wanted in any situation, room, or experience. We are forever thankful to call him our brother, and his memory will live forever in the hearts of all who were blessed to share in his life.

Continuing Mike’s Legacy

In honour of Mike’s remarkable life and the values he lived by, we are proud to introduce the Mike Robinson Memorial Golf Tournament. This annual event, held just outside of Stouffville in the neighboring town of Uxbridge, is built around the things Mike loved most: connection, camaraderie, competition, and giving back.

The tournament was created not only as a way to remember Mike, but to ensure that his legacy continues to make a meaningful difference for years to come. Proceeds from the event will support the Mike Robinson Memorial Award at his alma mater, Ontario Tech University.

The Mike Robinson Memorial Award

To honour Mike’s lasting impact, Ontario Tech University has established the Mike Robinson Memorial Award, dedicated to supporting the next generation of Men’s Hockey Ridgebacks. This award recognizes student-athletes who exemplify the qualities that defined Mike: leadership, teamwork, perseverance, community spirit, and mentorship.

Through this award, Mike’s influence will continue to inspire young athletes to lead with character — on the ice and beyond.

By participating in the tournament, attending the event, or supporting the cause, you are helping carry Mike’s values forward and investing in a legacy built on integrity, heart, and community.
